Tom Ledan
I tell stories shaped by presence, myth, and our inner compass.
I’m Tom Ledan — storyteller, director, actor, and filmmaker.
For more than two decades, I’ve been telling stories through theatre, film, and visual art, always searching for the point where tradition meets experimentation.
My creative practice is rooted in the methods of Jerzy Grotowski and his collaborators — an approach that treats the body, presence, and organic action as essential storytelling tools.
The journey began in 1999, when a transformative workshop with the New World Performance Laboratory (founded by Prof. James Slowiak and Jairo Cuesta) opened the door to a three-year project GILDIA — an intensive exploration of actor training, performance composition, and ensemble work.
I went on to study with key figures from Grotowski’s theatre, including Rena Mirecka, Zygmunt Molik, Maud Robart, and Przemysław Wasilkowski.
Since then, I’ve created and performed in numerous original stage works, each one shaped by a physically grounded, ritualistic approach to storytelling, often inspired by ancient mythologies and symbolic structures.
Beyond the stage, I’ve led cultural and social projects where theatre and film became tools for personal growth and social change.
In independent cinema, I work as a director, actor, editor, and sound designer — crafting short films and experimental works that explore symbolic language, human psychology, and the spaces where communication goes beyond words.
